MKO has been involved in a diverse range of Landscape Architecture projects over the years, providing unique, achievable, and sustainable designs to our clients. The Landscape & Visual team at MKO has recently grown its capacity for delivering Landscape Architecture services and is actively involved in a variety of projects across Ireland. Landscape Architecture is an essential service required in the planning and delivery of sustainable developments. This is particularly relevant today in the context of the recently proposed Nature Restoration Law published by the EU Directorate General for the Environment, which includes the following objectives in relation to urban open space:
“Urban ecosystems – no net loss of green urban space by 2030; a 3% increase in the total area covered by green urban space by 2040; and a 5% increase by 2050; a minimum of 10 % urban tree canopy cover; and a net gain of urban green space that is integrated into existing and new buildings and infrastructure developments;”

Our team of Landscape Architects provide a range of Landscape Architectural services in private and public sectors from concept development, landscape design, detailed design, on-site delivery, and supervision. We aim to provide high quality, innovative, attractive, and environmentally friendly landscapes that meet project specific requirements and offers valuable and pleasant spaces for the end user and client. Our portfolio includes landscape studies, urban design, housing developments, amenity and institutional design, solar mitigation, and quarry restoration. Our projects integrate nature conservation and biodiversity enhancement elements that are further enriched by valuable contributions from our in-house Ecology team. MKO is registered with the Irish Landscape Institute which is affiliated with IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects).
