Pre-Draft Plan Stage – Cork County Development 2022-2028

Cork County Council is commencing the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028. The purpose of the Development Plan is to guide the future development of the county.

The new plan will be different from previous County Development Plans in two key areas:

  • It will relate to the new administrative boundary of the county following the extension to the City Council boundary.
  • It will include all the settlements of the County, replacing the current 8 Municipal District Local Area Plans adopted in 2017 and the Town Development Plans for the nine former Town Council Towns.

The first step is the preparation of a Public Consultation Document and supporting Background Documents which address some of the key areas that need to be considered.

Submissions and observations in relation to the Cork County Development Plan Review and the preparation of the new Cork County Development Plan 2022-2028 are invited during the initial public consultation period, from Thursday the 12th of March until Thursday 2nd July 2020 inclusive.
