Proposed Variations for the Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022

It is proposed to vary the Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022 in respect of the following:

Proposed Variation No. 28: It is proposed to vary the Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022, by amending objective MTO31 (from Chapter 8: Movement and Transport) to include a pedestrian/cycle bridge across the River Liffey, from the Irish National War Memorial Gardens/Islandbridge to the Chapelizod Road (the R109).

Proposed Variation No. 29: It is proposed to vary the Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022 by changing the Land Use Zoning Objective of the lands at 5-6 Malahide Road, Dublin 17 from Z6 (to provide for the creation and protection of enterprise and facilitate opportunities for employment creation) to Z1 (To protect, provide and improve residential amenities).

Proposed Variation No. 30: It is proposed to vary the Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022 by changing the Land Use Zoning Objective of the lands at Carton Terrace and Balbutcher Lane, Ballymun, Dublin 11 from Z9 (To preserve, provide and improve recreational amenity and open space and green networks) to Z1 (To protect, provide and improve residential amenities).

Submissions and observations are welcome on the proposed variations to the Dublin City Development Plan and can be made from 8th July 2020 to 6th August 2020.

Leitrim County Council

Issues Paper for the Leitrim County Development Plan 2022-2028

Leitrim County Council is commencing the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028. The preparation of the new Development Plan shall be strategic in nature for the purposes of developing objectives and policies to deliver an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the County.

Submissions and observations in relation to the Leitrim County Development Plan Issues Paper and the preparation of the new Leitrim County Development Plan Issues Paper and the preparation of the new Leitrim County Development Plan 2022-2028 can be made from Wednesday 17th June until 4:30pm on Wednesday 12th August 2020 (inclusive).

 Cavan County Council

Issues Paper for the Cavan County Development Plan 2022-2028

Cavan County Council is commencing the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028. The Cavan County Development Plan is a document that sets out the overall strategy and vision for the proper planning and sustainable development of the county over the 6-year period.

Submissions and observations in relation to the Cavan County Development Plan Issues Paper and the preparation of the new Cavan County Development Plan 2022-2028 can be made from Thursday 18th June until 4pm on Friday 14th August 2020 (inclusive).

Carlow County Council

Issues Paper for the Carlow County Development Plan 2022-2028

Carlow County Council is commencing the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028. The purpose of the Development Plan is to set out an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the County

Submissions and observations in relation to the Carlow County Development Plan Issues Paper and the preparation of the new Carlow County Development Plan 2022-2028 can be made from Tuesday 24th June until Thursday 20th August at 5.00pm.

 Cork City Council

Issues Paper for the Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028

Cork City Council has started the preparation of a new Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028. This is a 2-year process, which evolves through various stages in line with Planning and Development legislation.

Submissions and observations are welcome on the Cork City Development Plan and preparation of the Draft City Development Plan from 26th June 2020 until 21st August 2020.

Kerry County Council

Issues Paper for the Kerry County Development Plan 2022-2028

Kerry County Council is commencing the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028. This Issues Paper is intended to encourage dialogue on the key topics important to the County, as well as promote and support your involvement at this early stage. Submissions of a strategic nature only are invited at this time; site specific issues cannot be considered at this stage of the plan formation process. Deadline for submissions is 21st August 2020.

Galway County Council

Issues Paper for the Galway County Development Plan 2022-2028

In accordance with Part 2 Section 11 (1) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) Galway County Council intends to review the existing Galway County Development Plan 2015-2021 and to prepare a new Galway County Development Plan 2022–2028.

A development plan is in force for a period of 6 years.  The Development Plan process comprises of 3 stages i.e.:

  1. Pre-Draft /Issues Stage
  2. Draft Development Plan
  3. Amendments to Draft Development Plan

The Galway County Development Plan review is at Stage 1 Pre-Draft.

In order to encourage participation in this process, the Planning Authority has prepared an Issues Paper. This Issues Paper will  be available for viewing on  www.galway.ie/cdpreview and also during public opening hours at the moment by appointment only in the Planning Section, Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway from Thursday 18th June 2020 to Thursday 10th September 2020 (inclusive).

In addition, video clips have been prepared which give a brief summary of the topics and issues that are present in the county and a number of questions are posed during each clip. These can also be viewed on www.galway.ie/cdpreview.

Submissions can be made during this consultation period however it is important to note that submissions made at this stage of the process cannot make any reference to zoning.  Submissions at this stage can only relate to high level matters for example Core Strategy and Housing, Urban Living and Place Making, Renewable Energy and the Environment.  Submissions relating to the zoning of lands is made at the next stage of the development review process (Stage 2 Draft Development Plan) which is scheduled to start towards the end of 2020.

Sligo County Council

Draft Variation No. 1 of Sligo County Development Plan 2017-2023

Sligo County Council has prepared a Draft Variation No.1 to the Sligo County Development Plan 2017-2023 (CDP) under Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). Planning legislation requires that the Development Plan be varied to incorporate the recent changes in national and regional policy:

  • At national level, the National Spatial Strategy 2002-2020 was replaced in 2018 by the National Planning Framework/Project Ireland 2040
  • At regional level, the Border Regional Planning Guidelines 2010-2022 were replaced in 2020 by the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the Northern and Western Region

Submissions and observations are welcome on the proposed variations to the Sligo County Development Plan and can be made from Monday 27th July to Monday 24th August 2020 at 4.00pm.

Galway City Council

Proposed Variations of the Galway City Development Plan 2017 – 2023

Galway City Council propose to make a variation of the Galway City Development Plan 2017 – 2023 in respect of the following:

  • Proposed Variation No. 5 – To align the Development Plan with the National Planning Framework (NPF), Regional Spatial Economic Strategy (RSES) and Galway Metropolitan Area Strategic Plan (MASP) and to incorporate the Galway City Council Climate Adaptation Strategy.
  • Proposed Variation No. 6 – To insert a Specific Development Objective on RA zoned lands at Cappagh Park to allow for consideration of an Aquatic Sports and Fitness Centre.

The closing date for submissions or observations is Monday 31st August 2020 at 4pm.

Waterford City and County Council

Issues Paper for the Waterford City and County Development Plan 2022-2028

Waterford City and County Council is commencing the preparation of the City and County Development Plan 2022-2028. The City and County Development Plan sets out a framework or blueprint for the proper planning and sustainable development for the whole of Waterford for a six year period. In developing the plan, we will build on our previous successes and our strategic advantages as a county. We will aim to maximise the strengths of our citizens, communities, built and natural heritage, infrastructure, and tourism, to their full potential.

Submissions and observations in relation to the Waterford City and County Development Plan Issues Paper and the preparation of the Waterford City and County Development Plan 2022-2028 can be made from 20th July 2020 to 14th September 2020 at 5.00pm (inclusive).

Offaly County Council

Draft Offaly County Development Plan 2021-2027

Offaly County Council has commenced the review of the existing Offaly County Development Plan 2014-2020 by preparing the new Offaly County Development Plan 2021-2027. The pre-draft Offaly County Development Plan 2021-2027 was amended by elected members and agreed to be the Draft Offaly County Development Plan 2021-2027 on 13th July 2020.

Submissions and observations in relation to the Draft Offaly County Development and the preparation of the new Leitrim County Development Plan 2022-2028 and can be made from Monday 27th July 2020 to Wednesday 7th October 2020 and 4.00pm (inclusive).
