On 13th December 2018 An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission for a 50 MW Solar PV array at Monart East, Co. Wexford. The development comprises the provision of Solar PV panels within an overall site area of approx. 29.7 Ha (73 acres).
The proposal also includes the provision of associated control cabins, inverter units, security fencing, underground cabling, site entrance, CCTV stands and landscaping.
Wexford County Council refused planning permission for the proposed development on 7th February 2018 however, after an appeal by the applicant, An Bord Pleanála decided to grant planning permission.
McCarthy Keville O’Sullivan is delighted to have been involved in this project which is one of the largest permitted solar developments in the State.
The project comprised a 21 turbine wind farm, with proposed turbine height of up to 170m, 110 kV electricity substation and all ancillary site roads, infrastructure and grid connections.
Following receipt of the SID determination from An Bord Pleanála (ABP) in July 2016 confirming the project as Strategic Infrastructure, the EIAR and planning application were finalised and submitted to ABP in October 2016 with full planning permission granted by ABP in May 2017.
