The successful delivery of this project was the result of a coordinated effort to overcome key design challenges and to fully realise the planning gains of the project. MKO lead in the delivery of Planning Consent through its Planning Renewables team, led by Sean McCarthy. MKO led engagement with the planning authority through the pre-planning process as well as community consultation events. Key challenges included the cumulative impact of renewable energy projects, traffic and construction management, Ecology and appropriate assessment, archaeological heritage, and Visual Impact. The project team provides comprehensive design and mitigation solutions to the project through iterative design and comprehensively addresses statutory and third-party concerns in a structured and transparent manner to secure permission. Ultimately, Kilderry Solar Farm is an environmentally responsible, landscape assimilated, ecologically sensitive renewable energy development.
