MKO provides ecological, environmental, and planning advice and assessment at every level within the forestry sector.
Our dedicated forestry team within MKO prepare Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports and Nature Impact Statements that accompany tree felling license applications which are relevant to a wide variety of forest operations carried out in Ireland, including but not limited to Clearfell and Reforestation, Thinning, and Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF).
Our Forestry team are experienced in carrying out site visits to a wide range of forest sites and assessing their biodiversity value, as well as improving upon these biodiversity values through the implementation of biodiversity management plans which can include management methods such as controlling invasive species, reducing grazing pressure and implementing CCF. MKO is experienced in completing Strategic Environmental Assessments and Appropriate Assessment screening reports for a wide range of clients, from state bodies such as the Forest Service at the nationwide plan level to the individual site scale.
