Interactive digital tools for stakeholder engagement

In recent years, the global landscape has shifted towards remote work and virtual interactions. This trend has presented unique challenges for traditional methods of community engagement. However, it has also opened new opportunities for innovative approaches.

Virtual Consultation Rooms (VCRs) have emerged as an interactive tool for effective communication, engaging with local communities and collaborating with stakeholders. These digital platforms provide a convenient and accessible way to share project information and gather feedback. Users can explore written, visual, and audio content from the comfort of their own homes, making VCRs particularly valuable for those who cannot attend in-person events.

While VCRs can be accessed remotely, MKO has found that incorporating them into on-site public information events can enhance engagement and accessibility. By providing a digital component, these events can cater to a wider audience and those who wish to interact with project information in a more interactive setting.

Digital panoramic photomontage viewers

Digital photomontage viewers are a great way for stakeholders to experience visualisations of a proposed project. Panoramic photographs and photomontage visualisations are uploaded onto a digital platform enabling an immersive and interactive 360° experience. The 360 panoramic viewers give the user visual context and understanding which may be lost within a fixed view printed photomontage. The 360 viewers can be integrated with other digital platforms such as VCRs and web map portals. Integration with interactive mapping platforms can be useful for users to understand the location of photomontages in combination with other mapping and spatial data, such as the location of a proposed project.
