MKO is actively working to understand and implement measures to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions associated with our business. Our GHG inventory for 2022 has been externally verified and published. The GHG Inventory for 2023 is being compiled and will likely be published before the end of the year.
In working to understand our footprint better, MKO has joined the TFI Smarter Travel Behaviour Change programme, promoting more sustainable work commutes and business travel for all employees. MKO was awarded a bronze level for the TFI Smarter Travel Mark, demonstrating the myriad of measures currently in place for reducing Scope 1 and 3 emissions.
In 2023 MKO received a SEAI grant for a trial of an electric vehicle, which was used by all MKO teams to conduct zero-emission business travel. Our Galway head office and Dublin office operate on 100% renewable electricity.
MKO operates under a hybrid working system, enabling employees to work from a remote working space or in the office. This enables MKO and our people to reduce carbon emissions, by removing commuting emissions.
