MKO acquires CDM Smith Ireland Ltd.

MKO, Ireland’s largest dedicated planning and environmental consultancy, has acquired CDM Smith Ireland Ltd. a leading firm providing specialist water, geo-environmental and environmental engineering services.

MKO acquired CDM Smith Ireland Ltd. from its German-headquartered parent, CDM Smith SE. CDM Smith Ireland Ltd. was established in 2001 and counts government departments, state bodies, local authorities and private sector organisations among its clients at the time of the acquisition.

MKO employs over 200 people nationwide and with offices in Galway and Dublin, works across the planning, environmental, ecology and related fields. The company is widely recognised for its multi-disciplinary service offerings and a broad range of nationwide experience across a wide range of industry sectors. MKO is a wholly Irish-owned company.

Speaking about the announcement, Brian Keville, MKO Managing Director, said: “The strong reputation of the CDM Smith Ireland team is widely recognised and having worked together successfully on projects over many years, we are delighted to be able to welcome that expertise and experience to MKO. CDM Smith Ireland Limited’s former Managing Director, Ruairi O’Carroll, will join MKO to lead the team, services and projects integrating with MKO. Speaking on the announcement, Ruairi said: “We are excited to combine our knowledge and experience with MKO’s, which we believe will greatly benefit our clients.
