MKO sponsors the CIEEM Irish Conference

We are delighted to sponsor this year’s Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) Irish conference. This conference will take place on the 25th of April in Athlone. The conference’s theme is ‘Aiming for a Nature Positive Ireland’, and it will be opened by Malcolm Noonan, Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform. There will be sessions on various topics, including the business journey and funding for ‘nature positive’; habitat restoration, creation and monitoring, and a discussion of potential routes, opportunities and challenges in achieving ‘nature positive’ and nature recovery. At the conference, Pat Roberts, MKO Principal Ecologist, will join a panel discussion on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). This will be chaired by Jason Reeves, Head of Policy with CIEEM and will also include Robert Rowlands of RPS and Nick Marchant of NM Ecology. Pat will discuss the MKO experience in relation to BNG. It is anticipated that there will be lively debate regarding how BNG will be implemented, quantified, monitored and regulated in Ireland.
