Rathcoon Solar Farm in County Meath has received a notification of decision to grant planning permission. It’s a strong result for the project and a step forward for Ireland’s renewable energy ambitions and 2030 climate targets.
Achieving this outcome required the coordinated input of landowners, local communities, elected members, statutory consultees and the MKO-led multidisciplinary technical team. The application drew together specialists across environmental, engineering, planning and regulatory disciplines, who worked through the technical assessments, design development and stakeholder engagement needed to build a comprehensive case. As is often the case with large-scale renewable projects, new challenges surfaced throughout the process, and the team adapted its approach to meet them while keeping the application on track.
